Editing Pictures For Cover

[9/2/23]

Since I wanted to get the hang of editing the pictures as a pictorial for the album cover, I took a few of the first shoot pictures and started editing them on Adobe Lightroom. As I was getting the idea of how to use it, I started to learn how to make my own presets which I knew would come useful in the future. I started messing with the brightness, exposure, grain, temperature and color grading effects and came out with these results.

From the far eye, the 4 pictures above may look the same, however, they are not. All of them have some minor feature different to be able to compare and see which one looks more visually pleasing. After sending the first picture, Yumna would ask, how would it look like with blur in the background, which led to the second picture and so on. The forth picture was when Yumna had asked for a dark soft edged blur so focus would be directed at Aimen. In the end, I decided to replace the social media account profile picture with the third picture above.

Using own made presets, I decided to make these newspaper pictures much more lively and with grain to cater to the 90's magazine look we wanted.  Here are the original pictures, for comparison:

Overall, I was very pleased with the results and looked forward to using Lightroom to edit and enhance the pictures for the rest of the social media page and for the digipack.
